Atman Dia: A resting place for travelers between the settlements to the north and the port of Mahdut. It is also an important marketplace for wool, hides, and dried meats brought in by herders using the expansive grasslands to the southeast. Atman Dia can be a wild and dangerous place at times.
Argarian Sea: The warm waters of the Argarian provide abundant seafood and passage for trade. Usually calm, it can become dangerous to ships when it storms. Its southeastern coast is wild and has never been inhabited because those who venture there are rarely seen again. It is said to be guarded by powerful spirits and creatures.
Mahdut: An independent city that is not a part of Serenia. As such, it is outside of the laws that forbid slavery. Its slave markets are discrete and unofficial, however, to prevent the rulers of Serenia from invading. It is a port town by way of extensive salt marshes that lead to the coast of a vast ocean. From there, caravans bring items for trade from the far eastern nations and other exotic places.
Halias Mora: A very ancient city that was once the largest in what is now known as Serenia. It fell from grace by its own decadence and has diminished in size and power with time. It still contains many wonders from ancient times but it also retains a fair bit of its decadence. It can be a dangerous place for the unwary. A major port and the western gateway to the southern passage across the Great Desert.

Belladut: The eastern gateway for the Great Desert's northern passage. The rulers of Serenia have never been able to completely suppress the wild and nomadic raiders from the mountainous north so the passage is used mostly by the military and by special caravans who can afford a large armed guard. The city fortress and garrison is the northeastern guard of the kingdom.
Begadia: The eastern gateway of the central desert passage. The trading route between here and Isalan is the busiest in Serenia. Not as large as Isalan, it is famous for its exotic culture but it can be a dangerous place because it is favored by desert raiders wishing to sell their stolen goods and by slavers wishing to capture the unwary and spirit them off to the slave markets in Mahdut.
Kiishnar Rot: A small city at the edge of civilization, it is favored by thieves and raiders. There are valued items of trade that come out of the mountains to the north but there is no Serenian garrison there the help keep the order.
Tarakesh: Isolated in the heart of the Tunjuk Mountains, well outside of the civilized world, Tarakesh is a nest of thieves and murders, warlords and tyrants.
Oasis of Dishnar: A large oasis along the northern passage that is considered holy ground by all. No fighting has ever taken place there and it has been used as a refuge by combatants even in times of war.
Ruins of Ariadne: A mythical place of unlimited power and riches. Once thought to be the holiest place of worship in the world, it was abandoned and reclaimed by the land. No one is certain of where Ariadne’s ruins are but legend has it if one could make it past the deadly protecting guardians and find it, Ariadne would unlock its secrets and yield the treasure of treasures.
Oasis of Mahdura: A small oasis along the southern passage where a small garrison of Serenian soldiers is stationed to protect travelers seeking water. They also guard the southeast corner of the kingdom and try to suppress the slave trade out of Mahdut.
Chandra Bot: Also known as "Port of the Crescent Moon". Situated on the Bay of The Crescent Moon, it has the best harbor on the central coast of Serenia. Although a major port for trade and fishing, it has never grown large because there is so little fresh water for drinking. Most trading takes place in Isalan, a half-day’s journey into the desert.
Dashia: A small city nestled in the foothills of the Sukeshian Mountains, Dashia lies on a junction of routes to the east, west, and south. It is primarily a hub for traders and travelers but it is also known for its weavers of cloth and spinners of yarn.
Demon’s Backbone: A narrow strip of near impassable rock outcroppings that snakes its way through the desert for a hundred leagues. Though no more than a dozen leagues across at its widest, there is only one known passable route for the southern desert passage. It is said to be home to demons and the much-feared Mulatai Warriors.
Isalan: Sarah’s home town. Known as the City of Life because of its many wells of life giving water. Once an obscure oasis, it is now a busy centre of trade and the western gateway to the Great Desert and lands beyond.
Sukeshia: An exotic city deep in the Sukesh Mountains. Once the dominant power on the eastern side of the Great Desert, it is now a peaceful city known for its arts, creature comforts, and exotic animals. It is a place favoured by mystics. Though it is an independent city-state, it has good relations with Serenia and many consider it a part of that kingdom.
Riad Ashalan: The capital of Serenia; home to the sovereign rulers. Its great buildings and squares are an inspiration to the known world. Its power and influence are a guardian of compassionate justice well beyond its borders.
